Citizen Journalist Tool Kit

Learn and spread the word about Mitt

The Citizen Journalist Tool Kit features primary source materials on Mitt Romney’s public record in policy, politics, business and life, and, in some cases, explainers. Our goal is to offer citizen activists, bloggers, journalists, and others access to potentially important research materials, especially items not widely available, if at all, elsewhere on the Internet. The archive is growing all the time, so check back often for new material and updates.

Life

Romney personal financial disclosure filings:

Romney’s Selective Service classification history:

These were received in response to a Freedom of Information Act request to the Selective Service System, Mitt Romney’s official draft board classification record.

Charitable activity:

IRS Form 990s disclosure filings for donations made by The Tyler Charitable Foundation (formerly known as the Ann D & Mitt Romney Charitable Foundation II), and other key financial data.

Policy

2002 policy proposals;

In his 2002 run for governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney's principal issue proposals were made via a series of PowerPoint presentations—a format chosen, presumably, to underscore his management credentials (and, perhaps, conceal a lack of substance).

2002 Planned Parenthood questionnaire:

Here it is, the much written about but seldom seen questionnaire in which candidate for governor Mitt Romney said he supported Roe v. Wade, emergency contraception, and clinic access provisions, and backs sexuality education in public schools.
